Head Process Engineer

Position Summary and Overview
We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Process Engineer to serve as an integral member of the Engineering department. The successful candidate will lead process scope development for a broad range of expansion projects and provide technical support for company's operating facilities.
Position Responsibilities:
• Development of process scope of work packages for commercial opportunity projects. Projects typically include customer pipeline connections to Co. Olefins hydrocarbon liquid and natural gas pipeline systems and cavern storage facilities. Connections may include installation of pipeline laterals, measurement facilities and pumping capabilities. Activities may include PFD and P&ID development, pipeline hydraulic calculations and preliminary equipment sizing.
• Serve as Co. Olefins lead process engineer on large gas compression expansion projects. Responsibilities include direction of engineering contractor for completion of process engineering deliverables, review and approval of process design documents and facilitation of formal process design reviews.
• Provide support to operations including optimization of operating assets and troubleshooting operating process control and equipment problems. Provide support for the management of change process.
Essentials Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)
• 10 -20 years total prior work experience including 10 plus years experience with a midstream operating company.
• Prior Midstream experience should include natural gas compression, measurement and dehydration, hydrocarbon liquid transportation, pumping and measurement. NGL fractionation, brine system and natural gas and hydrocarbon liquid storage experience is a plus.
• Experience working for and with an engineering contractor and with phase gate project delivery systems is a plus.
• Outstanding communication skills, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Must be able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders including Co. Olefins operations, commercial and executive managements as well as Co. Olefins customers.

Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 12 years experience in design and implementation of process control (including advanced control) and related systems for our fractionation, pipeline and storage facilities.
• Experience in process modeling (utilizing Hysis, etc.), MS Visual Basic and all MS Office products.
• Extensive knowledge in fractionation and natural gas processing, industry standards for documentation, basic and complex regulatory control (including model based predictive control), loop tuning, safety systems, DCS and PLC configuration.

The Senior Control Engineer is responsible for supporting advanced control effort for control engineering on all plants. As well as:
•Model process (or use existing model) to define improved means of control or using historical data to investigate control problems and optimize the process (which may include defining pinch points in the process equipment).
• Design and/or manage projects and installation that pertain primarily to advanced (Multivariable Model Based Control) Process Control (APC) and/or Advanced Regulatory Control (ARC) and providing a leadership role in the advancing area of safety system design.
• Leadership, engineering and technical support for process control, instrumentation and measurement technologies.
• Provide guidance and support for process control project scope and estimates, commissioning and operations training.

Independently reviews Inspection programs, inspections, Non Destructive Tests (NDT) and general surveys on systems such as pressurized vessels, piping, above and under sea pipelines or structures, cathodic protection systems, to ensure code compliance. Provides advice and specification for industrial painting, controlling trade testing and x-rays to contract welders, certifying lifting devices, providing expertise in metallurgy and corrosion.

Feedstock Preparation Municipal solid waste is received from large transport trailers and moved to conveying equipment for transport to gasifiers. > Gasification Feedstock enters a gasifier, where it is converted to a synthesis gas or syngas. The resulting syngas consists mainly of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. > Heat Recovery Steam Generator Heat released in the gasification process is recovered and converted to steam for use in the plant. > Alcohol Synthesis Reactors The syngas enters our proprietary alcohol-synthesis process, where it passes through a catalyst that converts the syngas to ethanol. > Alcohol Separation Separates and purifies ethanol. > Ethanol Clean, renewable ethanol fuel which started out as household trash is now ready for sale to local blenders to be added to the gasoline that fuels our cars and trucks.

The refy. is a $3.6B hydrocracking and coking project [no crude unit - products from adjacent refy.] w/ GS (Korea) & Mitsui (Japan) entering on the last 12 mos. detailed design, licensees (ConocoPhillips, Axens, & KTI), tech. advisor (Purvin & Gertz), w/ Worley-Parsons the PMC. They want an owner's PROJECT DIRECTOR to supervise the W-P Proj Mgr and handle final design, construction and commissioning & startup. Must have heavy engineering construction background. Support and develop short and long term eco. evaluations & analysis associated with selling LNG. BS in Bus., Econ. or Fin.. Min. 8 years in marketing and business development in a hydrocarbon industry; 3 years in LNG.
Commercial Market Analyst
To guide on Fiscal Terms for new LNG projects. To develop all necessary project econ. models, pricing analysis for new sales and provides sensitivities for project negotiations (including assessment of liquefaction, shipping and terminal costs). BS in Bus., Econ. or Fin.. Min. 6 years in marketing and bus. dev. in a hydrocarbon industry; 2 years in LNG.
These positions are long term (one year renewable) tax-free contracts
