- Client Co., is a midstream pipeline and storage company. THE JOB BELOW IS FOR AN OLDER ETHYLENE PLANT THE CLIENT BOUGHT FROM EXXONMOBIL, IN HOUSTON AND CONVERTED IT TO A MODERN PROPYLENE PLANT (A MUCH HIGHER PROFIT PROCESS)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivelant education, training and experience.
- Knowledge
- Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

- Qualifications and/or Experience Required:
- • 15 + years in Mechanical Engineering role supporting Petrochemical Manufacturing. Has developed and implemented Maintenance S.O.P.s, Operation S.O.P.s, Equipment Manuals,
- • Vibration Analysis/Troubleshooting experience with small and large turbo-machinery.
- • Excellent at root cause failure analysis and working with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Vendors and Service Representatives to troubleshoot and solve problems. Has proven track record of improving rotating equipment reliability. Proven ownership of field equipment, including overseeing repairs, installation, and successful start-up and monitoring methods. Experience working in Ethylene or related manufacturing facilities.
- • Valued but not required skills and experience: Strong oratory skills for addressing groups of people. Experience working other Engineering disciplines (Fixed Equipment, ChemE, etc.) and/or in Supervision of those that performed tasks. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

- Duties and Related Tasks:
- • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, P&ID's, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- • Confer with Maintenance Personnel, Engineers, Operations and other personnel to develop and implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
- • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
- • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
- • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- • Works closely with Vendors and Suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of work or components.

- Old friend and client of mine who has made it to Plant Manager of one of his company's largest petrochemcal complexes (400+ employeees on a 900 acre site just S. of Chicago) called me and wants to hire.
- This job manages a group of 23 engineering specialists and Group Leaders covering: Rotating Eqpt, Stationary Eqpt, Electrical, Instrumentation, etc. ALL PHASES OF EQUIPMENT in a giant plant producing ethylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, EO and EG, etc.
- As a result of access to Canadian Oil Sands raw materials (via Pipeline), they ARE MAKING OUTSTANDING PROFITS AT THIS COMPLEX!
- Will report directly to the plant manager. BS Engineering and 15+ years in petrochemical or refinery plant reliability INCLUDING SEVERAL YEARS SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE. This is a world-class complex OWNED BY THE WORLD'S 3RD LARGEST CHEMICAL COMPANY.
- Base range (base & bonus) to about ~ $170,000K / yr.
Rotating Equipment Engineer, Houston, TX
SALARY $160 to $180K per year.
Position Description
We are looking for the right rotating equipment and pump/compression Staff Engineer to join our Operations Excellence group. The successful candidate will have the technical background and experience necessary to support a large installed base of electric horsepower driving CO2 compression and pump systems and hydrocarbon gas compression at pressures to 2300psig. Also very important in this position is the ablity to effectively supervise a small group of technical personnel, take action-oriented initiative, understand balance between business needs and technical excellence, and be able to complete and hand-off projects to internal customers. The right candidate would provide advanced support engineering services to both pipeline and upstream gas injection operations to ensure continuity of service, vibration and mechanical integrity, throughput optimization, uptime reliability and operational expense reduction. This is an ideal opportunity for the candidate who has over 15 years of experience and a successful track record providing engineering and support services for large driver/compressor implementations.
- Objectives:
- • Provide senior expertise for selection of optimum driver/compressor equipment and layouts on capital expansion projects.
- • Assist plant managers to improve compression reliability and reduce unexpected maintenance issues due to damaged or run-to-failure equipment.
- • Recommend optimization regimes (procedural or mechanical) to improve on existing compression implementations.
- • Increase facility availability (thus increase volume processing and revenue).

- • Degree from accredited university in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
- • Advanced degree, certifications in compression technology, or other specialized certification in the field strongly perferred.Job Requirements
- • 10 years of experience designing and/or operating large compression implementations.
- • 5 years of experience engineering/designing large scale Electric Rotating driver compressor or pump implementations.
- • Demonstrable experience developing/engineering large reciprocating compression facilities.
- • Solid logical skills and biased toward action.
- • Advanced knowledge of rotating pumps and rotating/reciprocating compression.
- • Experience with engineering capacity optimization and expansion on large compression systems.
- • Strong understanding of system design, hydraulics, and pulsation/vibration mechanisms in compression systems.
- • Ability to work in a team.
- • 25% Travel (domestic Western U.S.).
- • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details and follow rules.
- • Position requires experience supervising technicians. position will supervise 2 field technicians and 1 office technician.

- • Additional gas turbine/centrifugal compression engineering knowledge preferred.
Reliability Engineer PIPELINE ENGINEERING: Terminal Maint Svcs Div, MAJOR OIL COMPANY, Overseas
Base Pay Range $80/$140K Directhire, career position, family status with full major Co. benefits, retirement, and tax protection. Position Description • We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer with the reliability experience to work with the Terminal Maintenance Services Division under the Terminal Services Department. • The department is responsible for the handling, storage and export of crude oil and refined products. Minimum Requirements • As the successful candidate you will hold an engineering degree from a recognized and approved program, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical. • Must have a minimum of 7/15 years of practical experience in the oil and gas field, or related industry. • Must have experience in reliability field and specialized in rotating equipment engineering and maintenance (pumps and motors). • Should be proficient with spreadsheet, presentation manager and word processing programs. Knowledge of CAD software, vibration and reliability monitoring software would be advantageous.The facilities include some of the world’s largest tanks and pumps used in the oil industry.
SENIOR CORROSION & MATERIALS ENGINEER (ROTATIONAL JOBS) Das Island \ Abu Dhabi Based - Contract (Long Term) Hire
SCOPE OF DUTIES: • Prepare / coordinate the management and implementation of the Corrosion Control Strategy covering the corrosion monitoring activities including periodic reporting to provide integrity status of systems and significant trends or limitations. • Coordinate Risk Based Inspection implementation and update, in order to establish/review inspection strategies. • Coordinate implementation of corrosion prevention measures in areas of Cathodic Protection, Corrosion Chemical Inhibition, Materials Selection and Painting Systems, as well as Insulation Systems. • Review and establish major deterioration threats and ensure integrity limitations are addressed and recommend suitable mitigation techniques. • Coordinate and interpret corrosion/inspection monitoring data in database, along with trends and existing mitigation measures. Recommend changes in the corrosion criticality analysis and monitoring/inspection program where appropriate. Ensure all relevant data is entered into the database. • Coordinate and maintain regular review of Corrosion Control key performance indicators. • Coordinate and direct activities to support or assist in confirming monitoring data or as the result of failures of equipment or trending predictions. • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis and failure investigations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • B.Sc. in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering/Chemical Engineering or equivalent. • 10 years experience in corrosion & metallurgical analysis ,and welding in the Oil and Gas Industry with good working knowledge of gas production, out of which at least 5 years experience in the activities of carrying out metallurgical investigations, equipment failure, potential survey of CP system and field application of internal corrosion control & plant and equipment, working knowledge of paint application, materials, composites, & refractory materials and knowledge of metallographic procedures. Computer knowledge preferably to be acquainted with SAP system. • Good sound practical experience in corrosion and CP monitoring systems. REMUMUNERATION PACKAGE: a) Salary is negotiable.
