OPERATIONS MANAGER
Old friend of mine who is a smart, class guy just joined a new company in 09, and they are looking for a proven OPERATIONS MANAGER. This Client has announced plans to build one of the First Commercial-Scale Ethanol Plants Using a proven-thermochemical process with Municipal Solid Waste as Feedstock. My buddy says their technology is outstanding and quite different from the usual Biofuels crap that is the farm-belt Gov’t Giveaway junk. Co. is CA-HQ although the actual plant site in the beautiful Tahoe-Reno, NV area (which has a very low COL). Good outfit: Hired a Proj Dir from me last who loves the Co. setup. They have the raw material commitments and plans to build an ADDITIONAL NINE MORE PLANTS LIKE THIS ONE.
Will report to Plant Manager and have responsibility for the safe/efficient operations of the plant. Looking for 15+ years operating experience, including 10 years progressive supervisory experience in petrochemical, chemical, gasification, natural gas or oil processing facilities. BSChE or BSME preferred.
Est. Base salary range ~ $100K/$160K (may do more) plus a target cash bonus of 25% of base, as well as stock options. In addition to compensation, we have a very rich benefits program that includes: • 100% employer paid Medical / Health Savings Account Plan for employee and dependents + Monthly company contributions to employee Health Savings Accounts based on coverage: $335 for employee + dependent coverage; $210 for employee only coverage • 100% employer paid Medical / PPO Plan for employee and 50% paid for dependents • 100% employer paid Dental and Vision for employee and dependents • 100% employer paid Long Term Disability and Life Insurance (200% of base salary) for employee • 401k Plan with a 6% company match
THEIR PROCESS:
Feedstock Preparation Municipal solid waste is received from large transport trailers and moved to conveying equipment for transport to gasifiers. > Gasification Feedstock enters a gasifier, where it is converted to a synthesis gas or syngas. The resulting syngas consists mainly of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. > Heat Recovery Steam Generator Heat released in the gasification process is recovered and converted to steam for use in the plant. > Alcohol Synthesis Reactors The syngas enters our proprietary alcohol-synthesis process, where it passes through a catalyst that converts the syngas to ethanol. > Alcohol Separation Separates and purifies ethanol. > Ethanol Clean, renewable ethanol fuel which started out as household trash is now ready for sale to local blenders to be added to the gasoline that fuels our cars and trucks.
Mechanical Dept. Manager
Mechanical Dept. Manager for the Houston EPC office of a large global corporation. The client has a 600 man office handling CAPEX projects in the $50MM - $250MM range for Gulf Coast clients with a growing market presence in South America. The position will report directly to the VP- Engineering. The Mechanical group varies in size from 15-20 as a function of project requirements (consisting of the Hd. discipline engineers and the Lead's assigned to Project Teams). The mechanical and piping designers report via a different route so this manager only has to handle the key engineers.
• They seek a degreed ME with 10 - 30 years design and management experience. A proven Lead Engineer with 10-12 years total experience and 2-5 years as a Lead plus demonstrated management success is a definite possibility but a 15 to 30 year person with solid supervisory experience is more likely to be the successful candidate. They seek a generalist person who can manage people and grow with the company.
